Invite near

Add the bot. Put its role high. Confirm it can talk.

You will

near is in the server, high enough to manage roles, and able to answer in chat.

Examples on this site start with a comma. Your server can use a different prefix. Change it with `,prefix` or in Basics if you own the server.

Before you start

• You can add bots to the server. Discord owner is enough.
• Have a channel near will be allowed to read.

Set it up

1. Add the bot. Use Get bot. Pick a server you can manage. Approve the permissions. There is no slash menu to wait for. Type in chat after the bot joins.
2. Move the role. Open Server Settings, Roles. Drag near above muted, jailed, vanity, and any role it will grant or strip. If it sits at the bottom, mute and vanity will fail later.
3. Confirm it can talk. In a channel it can see, send ping. You should get a short ok. If nothing comes back, the channel is hiding the bot or it is still loading.

• Do not leave near at the bottom of the role list.
• Do not wait for a slash command list. Type the prefix in chat.

Troubleshooting

• If Discord never finishes the invite, you are not allowed to add bots in that server.
• If ping works in one channel and not another, check channel permissions for the near role.

Verify it works

• near is in the member list.
• Its role sits above the roles it will manage.
• ,ping replies in a test channel.
